Fishing:
Two of the country's great trout rivers are Gloucestershire's Leach and Coln. Both clear and beautiful streams have a healthy population of wild brown trout.
More experienced fishers can challenge themselves to the intimate, private 1/2 rod beat of the Leach that runs through the Manor water meadows, fished on a strictly limited basis in line with our wild fish management policy.
The Coln is a slightly larger and less technical fishery in outstandingly beautiful scenery. Beats for 2 rods or larger parties can be organised with professional and qualified guides.
For beginners the local lakes surrounding Southrop are a welcoming and nurturing environment in which to learn to cast with our STANIC qualified instructors.
When booking fly fishing, guests can request a riverside picnic, the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful summer day.

Driven and Rough Shooting:
We are lucky enough to have some of Gloucestershire's finest sporting estates on our doorstep. Quality driven pheasant and partridge shooting can be booked locally. Benefit from our specialist local knowledge giving you access to exclusive and otherwise unavailable opportunities. Limited numbers of single or back to back driven days ranging from 100 to 250 birds are available for the 2009/10 season with options for lunches, multi night stays and private dining are available.
We can organise informal guided rough shooting locally including decoyed or flighted wood pigeon shooting and duck flighting.
